CITY OF ELGIN: Several street closures and parking restrictions

City of Elgin issued the following announcement on Oct. 21.

Citizens be warned! Several street closures and parking restrictions are in place big event, Nightmare on Chicago Street.

The impacted streets:

• Chicago Street from Douglas to Center

• Highland Avenue from Grove to Center

• Douglas/Grove Avenue from Highland to Fulton

• Spring Street from Highland to Fulton

• DuPage Street from Villa to Spring

• Fulton Street from Spring to Villa

Streets will be closed to vehicles and parking restrictions will be enforced until midnight on Sunday, October 21.

***The Spring Street parking deck is reserved for VIP parking until midnight. Several other downtown parking options can be found at cityofelgin.org/parking.

***In addition to downtown parking, free shuttles will run back and forth between the parking lot located at 934 Center Street and the north Spring Street entrance from 6:00 p.m. to midnight and from Elgin High School to the southern entrances. The last shuttles will leave downtown at 11:30 p.m.
