CITY OF ST. CHARLES: Scarecrow Fest is Oct. 5 – 7 in Downtown St. Charles

City of St. Charles issued the following announcement on Sept. 27.

The Annual Scarecrow Fest, presented by the Greater St. Charles Visitors Bureau, once again was cited as one of Country Living Magazine’s top Fall Fests of 2018 and this year is featured on the Travel Channel’s website as one of ten Amazing Fall Festivals Worth a Road Trip. October 5, 6, 7, enjoy all the signature events that makes this festival such a tradition and some new attractions. As always, admission and parking in designated festival parking areas are free. Festival-goers are encouraged to take advantage of the free shuttles from festival parking areas on the east and west sides. For more information, visit www.ScarecrowFest.com.

Scarecrow Fest Activities

Returning to the Fest, is the Taste of St. Charles. Select from Apple Gouda Melts, Sweet Potato Tots, Candied bacon on a stick, Italian meatball sandwich, and beef tenderloin sliders with our participating St. Charles restaurants. See www.ScarecrowFest.com for the full menu and availability.

New for 2018

W.A.R. on Wheels Scarecrow Ride

Oct. 7 at 8 a.m., Sammy’s Bikes is sponsoring a bicycle ride in support of Cal’s Angels and its W.A.R. (Wishes, Awareness & Research) against pediatric cancer. For a $25 donation to Cal’s Angels, riders can choose from a 60- or 100-kilometer ride. Bike rentals also are available.

Grave Reminders Cemetery Walk

On Oct. 6, , from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. those brave enough can immerse themselves in local history as they visit the gravesites of those who helped shape the character of St. Charles. Tickets are $5.00 for residents, $8.00 for non-residents. Children under five are free. Tours depart every 15 minutes. Pre-registration is encouraged at 630.513.6200. Presented by the St. Charles History Museum and the St. Charles Park District.

Autumn on The Fox Arts & Craft Show

Features more than 150 vendors with handmade items.

Windy City Amusements Carnival

On Cedar Street between 2nd & 4th Streets. Children less than 48” must be accompanied by an adult. Rides for special needs patrons available Oct. 4 from 3-4:30 pm. Unlimited ride wristbands are available at select time.

City of St. Charles Zone Displays

Exclusive look at Cadillac XT4 before it’s available at dealerships, Fox River Harley Davidson simulator and bags games, Heinz Brothers photo op and pumpkin painting, Petting Zoo, and pony rides.
