City of Elgin issued the following announcement on Sept. 27.
Fall leaf collection begins Monday, October 1 and continues through the month of November. No stickers are required on yard waste bags during that time. Yard waste bags will be collected on your normal garbage pick-up day. For more information, visit cityofelgin.org/yardwaste.
On-street leaf collection begins Monday, October 29 in designated areas. For information on this program and to view map of designated areas & relative days, visit cityofelgin.org/onstreetleaves.
Residents always have the option to mulch their leaves as mulching provides additional nutrients to the soil which promotes turf growth.
