The district transferred two students to another program instead of suspending or expelling them.
According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 974 students during the year. That equates to 7.8 percent of the 12,414 students enrolled.
Students were expelled for one incident with unspecified reasons.
Of the 973 out-of-school suspensions, 718 were given to boys and 255 were given to girls, including 658 elementary or middle schoolers and 310 high schoolers.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 888 incidents. There were 57 incidents of drugs. For 435 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
