Central Community Unit School District 301 issued the following announcement on Aug. 13.
The Board of Education of Central Community Unit School District #301 currently seeks applicants to fill a vacancy existing from the resignation of Board Member Mrs. Tina Johnson. The individual selected will serve on the School Board from the date of appointment through the April 2019 general school board election.
Interested applicants should submit a letter of application/interest and resume to Mr. Jeff Kellenberger, Board of Education President at 275 South St., P.O. Box 396, Burlington, Illinois 60109 by Friday August 24, 2018. Applicants must be a United States citizen, be at least 18 years of age, a resident of Illinois and Central District #301 for at least one (1) year preceding the appointment, be a registered voter, not be a child sex offender, not hold another incompatible public office, not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District, not be a school trustee, and not hold certain types of prohibited state or federal employment.
Applicants should show familiarity with the Board’s policies regarding general duties and responsibilities of a Board and a Board Member, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics and gift ban. The Board’s policies are available at Central301.net. The Board of Education will review all applications, select candidates for interviews and make a selection by Friday, September 14, 2018.
