Approval of Minutes of Previous Meeting – April 25, 2018

Special Presentations and Reports

          All items listed in section “Special Presentations and Reports” are for informational purposes only. As                    such, the city council is not expected to take action at this time on any item listed below.

     A. Waste Management Recycle Often Recycle Right (RORR) Program Update

          Waste Management will be presenting an update of the RORR Program that has now been rolled

          out citywide since the pilot program began in 2016. The educational program, through efforts of

          residents and the partnership and support of the City, has significantly reduced recycling

          contamination in residential areas. Waste Management uses Elgin as a best practice municipal

          partner model across the country.

Initiatives and Other Items

     B. Consideration of Contract with the Kane County Child Advocacy Center for Services Relating to

          the Investigation of Sensitive Crimes Involving Children ($35,000)

          Objective: Provide investigative and victim services for cases involving children who have been

          victimized by sexual or serious physical abuse.

     C. Consideration of Resolution Approving Selected Recipients for the 2018 Historic Architectural

           Rehabilitation Grant Program ($104,073)

           Objective: Award grants to owners of historic landmark properties or those located within the

           City’s historic districts for exterior rehabilitation and restoration work to their residential

           properties.

     D. Consideration of Agreement with Trotter and Associates Inc. for Design Engineering Services

          and Construction Engineering Services Regarding the 2018 Collector Street Resurfacing Program

          and Sanitary Sewer Lining Program ($342,150)

          Objective: Analyze, design and prepare construction documents for the resurfacing of various

          collector streets and for the lining of sanitary sewer locations included in the 2018 Sanitary Sewer

          Lining Program.
