Report: Central spent $11,953 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Central Community Unit School District 301 is up 1 percent from five years ago, according to a Kane County Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Kane County school district spent $11,893 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,953 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 3498 to 4030.

Central's spending in 2016-17 was 8 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
