Village of Pingree Grove issued the following announcement on May 10.
The Village of Pingree Grove Board of Trustees is proud to announce the construction of a new Municipal Center building which will consist mostly of a Public Works garage facility, but will also house the Building Department and administrative offices and conference rooms of Village Hall. The Village is partnering with Lamp Inc, Kluber Architects + Engineers, and Mackie Consultants in the design and build of this fiscally conservative 27,000 square foot structure which will be located on Village-owned property north of the water and waste water treatment plants and the Police Department. The total cost of the project is estimated at $4.1 million and is funded through general obligation bonds and a generous donation of $1.1 million from DR Horton/Cambridge Homes.
Currently, the Village stores public works equipment in a rented storage facility located in Elgin, IL; and Village Hall operates out of two double-wide trailers that have exceeded their practicality. This new facility will eliminate the need for commuting equipment from a neighboring community, and will free up land in the Heritage District for redevelopment. It also allows Village Staff to be digitally connected to better facilitate communication, file sharing and storage. The new Municipal Center will greatly improve the marketability of the Village and show future developers and businesses we are prepared to handle continued growth in our community. This will be a center to be proud of.
Look for construction to begin in June, 2018 with anticipated completion in March 2019.
