Rep. Barbara Wheeler (R-Crystal Lake) is one step closer to seeing the creation of a Ford Chicago plant sexual harassment task force.
Wheeler , who ia adamant about assuring workplace safety for female employees at the Ford plant in Chicago, saw the House adopt HR783 on May 10.
“I am thrilled that this House resolution is on the floor today,” Wheeler said.
The resolution is a direct response to the sexual harassment allegations at the Ford plant and will provide a federal investigation on the union leaders accused. Wheeler demanded the attention of her peers when the rsolution was first introduced in February,.
“They (female employees) are still sadly having to perform sexual favors for certain union leaders, and so far we have done nothing, absolutely nothing,” Wheeler said at the February debate.
HR783 was adopted and moved to the Senate.
