The Forest Preserve Commission meeting was held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 9:00 am at the County Board Room located at Kane County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Ave., Bldg. A, Geneva, IL 60134. The meeting was opened by President Mike Kenyon at 9:00 am.

Throughout the meeting, President Kenyon explained the proceedings to the eight 4-H students in attendance. He explained that the items on this agenda has been discussed at three prior meetings. He also stated that the Commissioners like to make the motion for items that are in their District.

President Kenyon explained the proceedings to the eight 4-H students in attendance. He explained that the grants were like free monies from the state for the District, to enable projects to be done. The District has to apply for the grants to take advantage of this resource.

XIII. President's Comments
President Kenyon took a moment to thank Commissioner Brian Dahl for his work and dedication to the Forest Preserve. He was a member of the Executive Committee as well as the Planning and Utilization Committee. Mr. Dahl has moved from his representative District, so he no longer is eligible to be on the Board. His resignation becomes official on April 7, so this is his last Full Commission meeting.
President Kenyon asked Commissioner Kojzarek to explain the T-shirts that all the Commissioners were wearing. Commissioner Kojzarek explained that there is a young student in his son's class that has been battling cancer, so the Board members personally purchased the T-shirts as part of a fundraiser and to show their support for the young man. Lucas attends the Gilberts Elementary School. We wish him the best.
