Analysis: Batavia pays $3.87 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Batavia Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 79.3 percent of the $1,015,266 the Batavia Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.87 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Kane County Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Batavia contributed $805,379 to the fund, which saw a $59,863 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $207,740, or 20.5 percent, in 2016. Another $2,147 came from other unspecified sources.
