Elgin hospital program helps dieters develop a 'N.E.W. You'
Anyone struggling with weight loss is being invited to an ongoing Thursday night program at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin that is focused on making a "N.E.W. You," according to the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce.
The hospital's N.E.W. You Center is focused on (N) nutrition, (E) education and (W) wellness. According to a flier, the center works with patients to prevent metabolic syndrome, which increases risk of heart disease, diabetes and stroke.
“Our Nutritional expertise, teamed with unique Education and support, are designed to help you on your journey to improved Wellness,” the N.E.W. You Center brochure reads. “Our comprehensive medical weight loss and medical nutrition therapy program is designed to fit each patient’s individual needs."
The center offers two basic programs to promote weight loss and health. The medically designed Ideal Protein program’s duration is based on each individual’s goal and features partial meal replacement foods and one-on-one health coaching. The CORE4 by Sodexo program lasts 12 weeks and includes education, physical activity and behavioral therapy for both weight reduction and management.
Registration is required by calling (547) 622-2080 or emailing NEW.You@presencehealth.org.
