Aurora Municipal Airport in Sugar Grove invites the public to its Commemorative Air Force (CAF) AirPower History Tour, open today through Sunday at the airport, featuring various iconic aircraft, close-up views and remarkable rides.

Among the historic flying machines on hand are a Boeing B-29 Superfortress -- nicknamed FIFI -- and several World War II aircraft, including a P-51 Mustang, a C-45 Expeditor, a T-6 Texan and a PT-13 Stearman.

Hours of operation for the show are 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. daily; admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids between the ages of 11 and 17. Children under 10 get in free.

The CAF tour imparts history to viewers nationwide with its collection of military aircraft, stories, and sights and sounds of World War II-era aviation. Attendees can view the planes up close, observe them in flight and, for an extra fee, even ride in them.

CAF’s AirPower History tour travels across the U.S. annually to educate and entertain audiences with aviation experiences at 20 additional locations, with pilots and crews accompanying the aircraft caravan coast to coast. Its organizing group (B-29/B-24 Squadron) is based in Dallas.

Aurora Municipal Airport is located at 43W752 Route 30 in Sugar Grove.
