The Geneva Police Department is encouraging the community to support its ongoing fundraising efforts for the Law Enforcement Torch Run For Special Olympics. The department raised $68,707 in 2025 through activities such as the Polar Plunge, Tip-A-Cop, Cop On A Rooftop, and its annual BBQ lunch. Officers hope to reach a new milestone of $70,000 this year and are seeking additional public support.
The easiest way for residents to help is by purchasing items from the Special Olympics Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run Apparel Store online and selecting "Geneva PD" at checkout. Donations can also be made directly to the department’s mission by contacting Sgt. Brad Jerdee via phone or email. All contributions must be received by Friday, Dec. 5, to count toward Geneva's 2025 goal.
Geneva Police have continued to set new records in fundraising for four consecutive years with this initiative. The Law Enforcement Torch Run brings together officers from across the country and has generated over $1 billion since it began in 1981.
"The Geneva Police Department thanks everyone who has contributed to the Torch Run's success this year," according to a statement from the department.
