The Village of Gilberts Utilities Division will start flushing water mains and inspecting hydrants on November 4, 2025. According to the village, signs will be posted in neighborhoods before the process begins to notify residents about the schedule. Flushing activities are planned for Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Residents are informed that water will remain safe to drink during this period, but it may appear discolored while flushing is underway. The village advises avoiding washing light-colored clothing at these times to prevent discoloration. Anyone with questions or concerns can contact the Village offices at 847-428-2861.
"During this time, the water is still safe to drink, but may be discolored during flushing hours. Please be advised that it is recommended to avoid washing any light-colored clothing during this time to avoid discoloration.
