CITY OF GENEVA: City Seeking Applications For Strategic Plan Advisory Committee

City of Geneva issued the following announcement on Jan. 26.

The City of Geneva is looking for a dedicated resident to fill a vacancy on the Strategic Plan Advisory Committee.

The City Council adopts a strategic plan to create a future vision for Geneva. The nine-member advisory committee supports the elected officials in this endeavor by encouraging citizen input along and assisting with the strategic plan’s goal implementation to achieve that vision. The committee also will be promoting resident participation in the upcoming 2020 U.S. Census.

Residents interested in serving on the Strategic Plan Advisory Committee should submit an application along with a letter of interest by Monday, Feb. 17 to Mayor Kevin Burns, Geneva City Hall, 22 S. First St., Geneva, IL 60134. The envelope should include a reference to the Strategic Plan Advisory Committee.

Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements in order to be considered for the position:

* Be a legal U.S. citizen;

* Live in Geneva for a minimum of one year;

* Be a registered voter;

* Have no felony convictions; and

* Be current on taxes and payments to the City.

Mayor Burns will review all the applications and bring forward a nomination to the City Council.
