City of Aurora Public Health, Safety, and Transportation Committee met Sept. 10.

CALL TO ORDER:

Chairperson Hart-Burns called the meeting to order at 4:00pm.

ROLL CALL

Present: 5 - Chairperson Scheketa Hart-Burns, Vice Chair Patty Smith, Alderman Ted Mesiacos, Alderman Judd Lofchie and Alderman Mike Saville

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

19-0764 Approval of the minutes from the Public Health, Safety and Transportation Committee meeting held on August 29, 2019.

A motion was made by Vice Chair Smith, seconded by Alderman Saville, that this agenda item be accepted and filed. The motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENT

AGENDA

19-0751 A Resolution Authorizing Annual Action Plan Substantial Amendment (2019-#2) to allocate 2018 Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funding in the amount of $126,000 to Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS) also known as Hesed House.

A motion was made by Alderman Lofchie, seconded by Vice Chair Smith, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

Alderman Mesiacos arrived at 4:03pm.

19-0771 A Resolution authorizing the execution of a memorandum of understanding between the City of Aurora, Kane County and the City of Elgin; the participation in the 2019 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) program; and the use of the City of Aurora's portion toward the Aurora Police Department equipment purchase.

A motion was made by Vice Chair Smith, seconded by Alderman Saville, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

19-0774 A Resolution authorizing the City of Aurora to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Aurora Police Department and the Illinois National Guard Counterdrug Task Force.

A motion was made by Alderman Lofchie, seconded by Alderman Mesiacos, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

19-0793 A Resolution establishing the maximum number of Class R City of Aurora liquor licenses (unofficially related to application from: The Two Brothers Roundhouse Inc. d/b/a Two Brothers Artisan Spirits, located at 205 N. Broadway, Aurora, Illinois.).

A motion was made by Alderman Lofchie, seconded by Vice Chair Smith, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

19-0795 A Resolution authorizing the City of Aurora to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Aurora Police Department (APD).

A motion was made by Vice Chair Smith, seconded by Alderman Saville, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

A motion was made by Alderman Saville, seconded by Alderman Lofchie, that this meeting be adjourned. Chairperson Hart-Burns adjourned the meeting at 4:17pm. The motion carried.
