CITY OF GENEVA: Take The City's Speed, Pedestrian Safety Survey

Speed

City of Geneva issued the following announcement on April 12.

Geneva residents and community stakeholders are invited to give their feedback regarding speeding and pedestrian safety through an online survey available on the City’s website.

After identifying enhanced pedestrian safety as a goal in the City’s 2018 strategic plan, the City created a Speed Control Policy Task Force to review its existing policy, and, if necessary, provide recommendations to the City Council. The task force is comprised of residents from across each of Geneva’s five wards.

The survey results will help broaden the task force’s understanding of the community's concerns and help focus efforts addressing speeding and pedestrian safety. The survey deadline is Tuesday, April 30.

People also can contact the task force via email or attend one of the group’s meetings, which will be held at 7 p.m. at:

Wednesday, April 17 at Fire Department No. 1, 200 East Side Drive;

Wednesday, May 1 at the Geneva Public Works Department, 1800 South St.;

Wednesday, May 15 at the Geneva Public Works Department; and

Thursday, May 30 at the Geneva Public Works Department.

The task force will be working with City staff this spring to draft policy recommendations, which are anticipated to be presented to the City Council on Monday, June 3.
