The Kane County budget was $329.30 million for its 2017 fiscal year.

That's an increase of 11.2 percent from 2016, when the county spent $296.04 million.

Kane County has a population of 534,667.

Since 2001, the Kane County budget has grown by 20.6 percent, from $272.95 million. The county population has grown 25.6 percent over the same period, from 425,545.

Salaries accounted for 21.5 percent of county spending in 2017. Kane County property taxpayers paid $70.76 million for 1196 full-time employees and 775 part-time employees.
