CITY OF ELGIN: Neighborhood Matching Grant Program

Grant

City of Elgin issued the following announcement on March 21.

The Elgin Community Network (ECN) has funding available through its Neighborhood Matching Grant Program which supports Elgin neighborhood projects and initiatives. The grant program is a cooperative initiative between the ECN and the City of Elgin.

Elgin’s quality of life is tied to strong neighborhoods and active residents. The purpose of the Neighborhood Matching Grant Program is to support grassroots projects that enhance and strengthen neighborhoods. All projects will be initiated, planned and implemented by neighborhood members in partnership with the ECN, with final authorization to proceed from the City of Elgin. Neighborhood involvement and relationship building are key components of the program.

The Neighborhood Matching Grant Program offers two options for funding. Grant awards up to $1000.00 are available under the Small Sparks Fund. Grant awards up to $19,999 are available under the Small & Simple Projects Fund. For both programs, the neighborhood provides an equal or greater match consisting of volunteer labor, donated professional services, donated materials and/or direct financial contributions.

Please contact the Elgin Community Network at elgin.ecn@gmail.com to discuss your project ideas and to get advice or questions answered. Visit cityofelgin.org/neighborhoodgrant to access guidelines and application materials for the
