City of St. Charles issued the following announcement on Dec. 15.
Come out and support our Police & Fire departments in a friendly competition—all for a good cause. Officers and firefighters will be ringing bells for the Salvation Army, each competing to fill their kettle with the most donations. Visit the St. Charles Wal-Mart Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and help fill the kettles. Of course in the end, no matter which kettle is filled the most, everyone wins.
