Q2 real estate sales report: South Elgin

Median prices rose in South Elgin over last year, and are down 1.5 percent over 10 years, adjusted for inflation, according to second quarter sales data collected by BlockShopper.com.

From April to June, 100 homes sold in South Elgin for a median price of $255,750. That's 4.6 percent higher than median home sale prices for the second quarter of 2017.

In the second quarter, 4 homes in South Elgin were in foreclosure.

Median property tax for homeowners in South Elgin was $6,745.20 in 2017 according to tax data from that year. That means homeowners pay 2.8 percent of their home's value in taxes.
