CITY OF ST. CHARLES: America in Bloom Judges are Coming

Floraldisplay

City of St. Charles issued the following announcement on June 29.

We’re putting our best face forward this month. Two America in Bloom judges will visit our town July 16-17. They will be taken on a guided tour around St. Charles to review floral displays and landscaped areas, along with our heritage preservation, urban forestry and environmental efforts. They also will be paying attention to the overall impression our community conveys, so be sure to tidy up your yard on judging days. Visit our America in Bloom - St. Charles web page to find out more. There, you can take a virtual tour of the judging route and page through our program entry.

And while you are strolling around our beautiful downtown, you soon will be able to enjoy original artwork posted in business windows. The art is compliments of our very own elementary students who drew red geraniums, the America in Bloom - St. Charles flower for 2018. Street banners announcing the community’s participation in America in Bloom also will be going up soon.

Did you plant red geraniums this year? Show us your bloomin’ photos. Tag the City on Instagram (@cityofstcharlesil) or the America in Bloom – St. Charles Facebook page (@americainbloom.stc.il). For more information contact Diane Cullen at dianelcullen@gmail.com or Ward 5 Alderman Maureen Lewis at mlewis@stcharlesil.gov
