Report: St. Charles spent $13,104 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 is up 10 percent from five years ago, according to a Kane County Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Kane County school district spent $11,922 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,104 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 13464 to 12570.

St. Charles's spending in 2016-17 was 1 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
