1. Call to Order

Chairman Silva called the meeting to order at 9:00 am.

3. Finance/Budget

The monthly financial reports were included in the agenda packet. Finance staff Waggoner reported there were no FY17 budget concerns to report at this time.

5. Executive Director

A. Flash Report

Referencing the monthly reports included in the agenda packet, Exec. Dir. Jeffers announced the release of the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps. She noted this is the season for severe weather, people need to be aware and prepare for the effects. (Allan arrives @ 9:02 a.m.) Jeffers promoted May as Mental Health Month. The Mental Health Council is celebrating 10 years. Jeffers noted they will be bringing in a presenter to discuss Mental Health Month at the May committee meeting.

B. 2017 County Health Rankings & Roadmaps

Referencing a presentation included in the agenda packet, Exec. Dir. Jeffers reviewed the 2017 County Health Rankings & Roadmaps. Statistics reveal that where we live matters to our health. These rankings serve as a snapshot on what has been done well and what needs improvement. Jeffers reported Kane County ranked 12 out of 102 IL counties. She compared Kane County's health factor rankings from 2016 and 2017. (Starrett arrives @ 9:14 a.m.) She shared the next steps toward health in all policies. Considerable discussion followed.

C. Save-The-Date Tuberculosis

Referencing a document included in the agenda packet, Exec. Dir. Jeffers promoted an event for medical professionals on Tuberculosis (TB). The event will be conducted by MAYO Clinic at Rush Copley Heart Institute in Aurora on June 14, 2017. Considerable conversation followed.

6. Animal Control

Monthly reports were included in the agenda packet. Admin. Youngsteadt announced their first vaccine clinic will be held today. They will be doing rabies vaccines and microchipping. Youngsteadt reported their revenue exceeded their expenses last month, they are on track similar to last year.

7. Office of Emergency Management

Monthly reports were included in the agenda packet. Dir. Bryant reported their focus this month has been to get people to register for the CodeRED Emergency Notification System. He discussed the various social media and publications they have utilized. CodeRED notifications are used to convey disaster information, missing persons, and other police related information necessary for the public.
