1. Call to Order

Co-chair Starrett called the meeting to order at 10:06 AM.

A. Legislative Update

Co-chair Starrett provided an update on pending legislation. (Silva leaves @ 10:09 a.m. & does not return) Brief discussion followed. Starrett shared a list of bills brought forth by United Counties Council of Illinois (UCCI) pertaining to the county. She noted SB0007 - Chicago Casino Development Authority Act would take revenue away from the Grand Victoria (GV) Riverboat and Aurora's Hollywood Casino. This would not benefit the county since many social issue organizations rely on funds from GV.

Court Services staff Aust provided an overview of HB2591 on court fee distribution and SB1799 regarding juvenile detention screenings. Brief discussion followed.

Health Dept. staff Heaton provided an overview of the Tobacco 21 bill, HB0440 which allows school districts the option of providing PE, and the Raw Milk distribution bill.

B. Assessment Publications

Co-chair Starrett reported that nothing had been filed yet.

C. State Moneys Form

Co-chair Starrett reported they are looking to bring this bill back.

D. Legislative Breakfast Update

Co-chair Starrett stated they were pleased with the turnout for the event and thanked the many people involved. She reported 15 legislators were in attendance. Each representative agreed to support at least one of the county's issues. Brief discussion followed.
