The St. Charles Fire Department plans to carry out hydrant flow testing at 35 Hunt Club Drive on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. The procedure is scheduled to start at around 9:00 a.m. and conclude by 10:00 a.m.
Residents in the area may notice rust in their water during or shortly after the test. According to officials, the water remains safe for use; however, they recommend avoiding laundry until the water clears. In cases where laundry becomes discolored from rusty water, residents are instructed to keep the clothing wet and contact the Public Works Department at 630-377-4405 for a rust-removing solution packet.
Drivers are also advised to exercise caution while traveling through areas being flushed because of possible water accumulation on roadways.
