The Village of Montgomery has recognized Sergeant Jeff Ricedorf from the Montgomery Police Department for completing the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy training program. This program is known for its focus on leadership development within law enforcement.

Between March 2024 and April 2025, Sgt. Ricedorf completed three courses offered by the FBI-LEEDA: the Supervisor Leadership Institute (SLI), Command Leadership Institute (CLI), and Executive Leadership Institute (ELI). As a result, he received the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award, becoming the first member of his department to earn this recognition.

The Trilogy program aims to enhance skills in supervision, command, and executive management among law enforcement professionals. It prepares them to lead with integrity and effectiveness in their communities.

“Sgt. Ricedorf’s dedication to professional development and leadership is commendable,” said Montgomery Police Chief Phil Smith. “This achievement reflects not only personal commitment but also strengthens our department’s ability to serve the residents of Montgomery with excellence.”

Sgt. Ricedorf attended this training alongside leaders from police departments in Aurora, Naperville, Oswego, Plano, Yorkville, as well as officers from Kendall County Sheriff’s Office and other out-of-state agencies. The training covered topics such as leadership style, law enforcement trends, organizational change, public trust and legitimacy, employee wellness, transformational leadership, and social and emotional intelligence.

The Montgomery Police Department emphasizes ongoing training and leadership development as part of its mission to ensure public safety and community trust. More information about the department can be found at montgomeryil.org.
