At 8:32 a.m. on Friday, August 8, the St. Charles Police Department responded to a second bomb threat at the Q-Center hotel and convention complex located at 1405 N. 5th Ave., St. Charles.

The police department worked with the Kane County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad and the Explosive Detection K-9 Unit to search the area. Authorities reported that no explosive device was found during their investigation, and all 70 hotel guests were confirmed safe.

This incident follows an earlier bomb threat reported by the Q-Center on August 6. In both cases, searches did not uncover any explosives, and authorities declared the areas safe. Since the first report, police have increased patrols in the vicinity as a precaution.

Authorities are continuing their investigation with support from other agencies. The St. Charles Police Department encourages anyone with information about these incidents to call them at 630-377-4435.
