State Representative Dan Ugaste announced on April 13 that he will co-host a Prescription Drug Drop Off event with State Senator Don DeWitte and the Elburn Police Department on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place at the Town and Country Public Library District in Elburn.
The initiative is designed to provide community members with a safe way to dispose of unused, unwanted or expired prescription drugs without leaving their vehicles. Organizers say this free outdoor event aims to promote public safety by preventing misuse of medications and reducing environmental risks associated with improper disposal.
“Please join us on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a Prescription Drug Drop Off event at the Town and Country Public Library District in Elburn,” Ugaste said in his announcement. “Thank you to co-hosts State Senator Don DeWitte and the Elburn Police Department. This is a free outdoor event that allows you to remain in your vehicle while safely disposing of unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs.”
Ugaste has represented Illinois’ 65th House District since his election in 2019 as a Republican, succeeding Steven Andersson according to Ballotpedia.
Events like these are part of broader efforts by local officials and law enforcement agencies across Illinois aimed at reducing accidental poisonings and substance abuse through proper medication disposal.
