Residents of Pingree Grove are being reminded to adhere to local and state laws regarding fireworks as the 4th of July approaches. The use, possession, or discharge of illegal fireworks is prohibited in Illinois and consequently in the Village of Pingree Grove.

The reminder comes after a small brush fire was caused by the illegal use of fireworks in the community. The Pingree Grove Police Department will be actively enforcing these regulations over the holiday period. Violators can expect to receive Village Ordinance tickets if found breaking these laws.

Officials encourage residents to celebrate safely by attending public fireworks displays instead. The Village of Pingree Grove has organized an event on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, at 9:15 pm near the central baseball complex on Wester Blvd. While most fireworks are banned, low-impact novelty items such as sparklers and smoke devices remain permissible for personal use.
