At 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, the Manhattan Jaspers, featuring former St. Charles East High School standout Matthew Steinberg, were defeated 7-3 by the Fairfield Stags in an NCAA Division I baseball matchup.
Don ’63 and Chris ’88 Cook Field hosted the contest. It marked the teams’ third meeting this season. In their matchup on Saturday, March 14, the Jaspers dropped a 4-3 decision to the Stags.
Steinberg pitched 2.2 innings and surrendered two earned runs while striking out two batters.
The Jaspers are set to play their next game on Tuesday, March 17, at 3 p.m. at Clover Stadium against the Lafayette Leopards.
