The Kane County Division of Transportation announced on Apr. 8 that it will conduct bridge inspections in mid-April at several locations where Geneva highways cross the Union Pacific-West railway tracks.

The inspections are scheduled to take place from April 14 through April 16, with specific dates and locations as follows: Randall Road south of Keslinger Road on Tuesday, April 14; Keslinger and Peck roads on Wednesday, April 15; and Kirk Road south of State Street (Route 38) on Thursday, April 16. The schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions.

During the inspection period, motorists should expect closures of shoulders and outside lanes between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to allow inspectors safe access to the bridges.

According to the Kane County Division of Transportation, these measures are necessary for regular maintenance and safety checks required for county infrastructure.
