The City of Elgin has finalized its Plan for Accessible Streets and Sidewalks and is seeking public input before the plan is officially adopted by the City Council.

According to city officials, the plan details approaches to enhance accessibility across Elgin’s public streets and sidewalks. The strategies are designed to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards and support the city’s commitment to inclusive infrastructure. Community members, including residents and stakeholders, are encouraged to review both the full plan and an executive summary, then submit their comments.

The documents and an online form for feedback can be found on the Engage Elgin website.
