The City of Aurora is preparing for its annual Fiestas Patrias celebration, which will take place over the weekend of September 6 and 7, 2025. The event is organized in partnership with the Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board.

On Saturday, September 6, a free festival will be held at Wilder Park, located at 350 N. River Street, from noon to 9 p.m. The program includes seven live performances by artists such as Los Sementales De Nuevo León, Banda Portillos, and Jose Luis Duval. Food vendors will be present and the traditional El Grito de Independencia ceremony will also take place.

A parade is scheduled for Sunday, September 7. It will begin at 11 a.m. at the corner of Broadway (IL Route 25) and Benton Street in downtown Aurora. Saúl Olivas has been named this year’s Grand Marshal.
