City of Aurora Civil Service Commission met March 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

Inv. Dustin Coppes present for review of police backgrounds.

Members present: Chairman John Perkins

                              Vice Chairman Timothy Oelker

                              Commissioner Carmen Armstrong - excused

                              Commissioner Ramona Wood

                              Commissioner Leticia Morales-Perez - excused

OLD BUSINESS

NEW BUSINESS

Commissioner Oelker motioned take the commission into executive session at 4:06 p.m. to review police officer polygraph assessments and backgrounds. Commissioner Wood seconded. Motion passed.

Commissioner Oelker motioned to take the commission out of executive session at 4:35 p.m. Commissioner Wood seconded. Motion passed.

Commissioner Wood motioned to pass 2019 Police Officer Eligibility List candidates Tyler DeBoer, Ignacio Galindo, Jason Penrod to the next step in the hiring process based on the results of the background investigation. Commissioner Oelker seconded. Motion passed.

Commissioner Wood motioned to strike 2019 Police Officer Eligibility List candidate Adolpho Tenerio from the eligibility list due to the results of the background investigation.

Approval of March 5, 2020 meeting minutes was tabled until the next meeting.

Commissioner Wood motioned to strike Nicholas Szalinski from the 2020 Police Officer eligibility list per his request. Commissioner Oelker seconded. Motion passed.

Commissioner Wood motioned to strike 2020 Police Officer eligibility candidates Michael Benefial and Daniel Simon from the list based on the results of the polygraph assessment. Commissioner Oelker seconded. Motion passed.

Commissioner Wood motioned to pass 2019 Police Officer Eligibility List candidates Christopher Ong, Anthony Tangorra, Joseph Escutia, Wade Larkin, Evelyn Salas Hernandez, Jonathan Garcia, Michael White, Daniel Delgrosso, Paolo Lanzisero, Kevin Tamme, and Christopher Vega to the next step in the hiring process based on the results of the polygraph assessment. Commissioner Oelker seconded. Motion passed.

Commissioners broke ties by lottery on the Maintenance Service Worker/ Maintenance Worker I eligibility list. Commissioner Wood motioned to certify the eligibility list. Commissioner Oelker seconded. Motion passed.

Commissioner Wood motioned, seconded by Commissioner Oelker to adjourn the meeting at 4:57 p.m. Motion passed.
