Unpaid fines for Elgin-based campaign committees totaled $15,025 in January 2017

Campaign committees in Elgin collectively owe a total of $15,025 in overdue fees, records obtained by the Kane County Reporter show.

A detailed review of individual fines revealed that three committees in Elgin were delinquent in payment for January 2017.

The Elgin-based committee with the largest total in unpaid fines was Hispanic American Community Leadership Network, which owes a total of $10,925.

The largest fine that Hispanic American Community Leadership Network has yet to pay was imposed on Feb. 27, 2015, for a late quarterly report. The amount of this fine alone is $5,000.

The following table lists all campaign committees in Elgin owing unpaid fines in January 2017, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections:
