Hultgren praises choice of Mueller to head probe looking for U.S. election-Russia link
Former FBI Director Robert Mueller will uncover the truth about Russia's involvement in the 2016 presidential election, U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren (R-IL) said in a statement recently.
“The appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller to serve as special counsel on Russia's involvement in the 2016 election is a welcome addition to the ongoing effort to establish the facts,” Hultgren said, according to the statement. “Mueller proved himself as a well-respected and professional law enforcement official during his 12 years at the helm of the FBI.”
Praising Mueller’s record and experience, Hultgren called his appointment an opportunity for the public to get answers on the contentious issue. He noted that Mueller’s approach and reputation will lend the investigation and its conclusions credibility.
“We all just want the facts to come out,” Hultgren said in the statement. “Mueller’s fair and even-handed approach will ensure he follows the evidence, brings forth the facts and illuminates the truth.”
