St. Charles panel offers grants for youth programs

Money068

The St. Charles Youth Commission is currently accepting funding requests for projects that support local youth.

Every year, the panel uses some of the funds in its annual budget to support projects that positively affect local youth. Any organization or group can apply by filling out the application, which is available online HERE.

The projects must either benefit or involve St. Charles youth.

Projects that have won funding in the past include an elementary school creating "Little Free Libraries" and a Girl Scout troop installing a swing for disabled youth at Pottawatomie Park.

All applicants will be expected to explain how their project or initiative will positively impact local youth. Requests can be submitted year-round and are reviewed at the commission's monthly meetings. The panel does not meet in June or July.

Funding request forms are also available at most schools and the City of St. Charles Municipal Building.

For more information, contact Nancy McFarland of the St. Charles Youth Commission at 630-377-7059 or senior administrative assistant Sara Cass at 630-443-3777 or by email at scass@stcharlesil.gov.
